		<description>Hi Vince,

I read your new Micronutrient Triage Theory based on Ames work, nice write-up. I was also thinking about how networks are important - Packer&#039;s work and also Bill Lands
http://efaeducation.nih.gov/sig/eicosa1.html

And also getting all the micronutrients within a family- e.g. toctrienols- appears to be important:
Chapter 12 on &quot;Toctrienol Neuroprotection&quot;
http://books.google.com/books?hl=en&amp;lr=&amp;id=ylX-GBKyLLkC&amp;oi=fnd&amp;pg=PP12&amp;dq=lester+packer&amp;ots=MeO3cTJCOB&amp;sig=ZIc6xUjpkwodhYQRBMCpsWUdduY#v=onepage&amp;q=&amp;f=false

And now also the research of:
Part 2: Evolutionary Biologist Michael R. Rose, Ph.D. -
http://www.youtube.com/user/MaxLifeFoundation#p/u/9/SARG-G4lJRc

See slides beginning @7:10 where he points out that Cell biology/biochemistry has progressed from the view of Pathways (way outdated view) to Complex Networks (outdated view) to Vastly Complex Networks (current view) - which can probably include the Micronutrient Triage Theory. All 3 video parts are excellent, and he predicts that human healthspan can be doubled using nutriceuticals &amp; pharmaceuticals based on genetics research.

The Micronutrient Triage Theory (Minimize DNA damage) may in the future be expanded/merged to include Maximizing the effect of longevity genes using nutriceuticals &amp; pharmaceuticals based on Dr. Rose&#039;s &amp; others work (telomere lengthening). Need the research to determine which nutriceuticals &amp; pharmaceuticals work on longevity genes, which seems to be coming.

Your aging theories are vastly complex interconnected networks.

Thanks for your blog, it will take a long time to catch up to you at your pace, keeps the mind working.</description>

		<description>Jeg3 again:

I have checked out all the citations you provided.

With respect to Vitamin C facilitating the reprogramming of cells to iPSC status, very interesting. Another thing to add to the already-long list of credentials of Vitamin C. There has been a lot of work during the last year on improving methods for reprogramming to get iPSCs with additional interesting results. I may generate a blog post on the topic.

As to Packer&#039;s work and the work on micronutrients, also very good and classical stuff related to several of the theories of aging including Oxidative Damage and Mitochondrial Damage. I have covered much of this material including that related to Acetyl-l-carnitine and Alpha-lipoic acid in my treatise and, of course, in my suggested anti-aging supplement regimen and other blog posts.
Did you see my blog post on The micronutrient triage theory of aging? It is at http://anti-agingfirewalls.com/2009/12/05/the-micronutrient-triage-theory-of-aging/

		<description>Hi jeg3

Wow! Thanks for the links. I will look at them, see what other relevant stuff there is and get back with a substantive related comment before long.

<description>Have you seen this, also interesting but no studies showing extension of maximum life span, so maybe good for specific diseases and healthy aging:
Citrus surprise: Vitamin C boosts the reprogramming of adult cells into stem cells

There is also Packer&#039;s work:
